KIDS KARATE TORONTO CLASSES

Over the past 20 years I have moved many times and have trained at many martial arts schools across Canada. This is by far one of the best martial arts schools I have ever trained at. The reason for this is Master Dayo and Miss Tess. They are two of the most genuinely nurturing, motivating, and professional people that I have met. Their school embodies the historical martial arts spirit of discipline, respect, and camaraderie with the modern element of fun and humour. Since the first day I joined, they always greet me by name and they notice when I have been missing for a few days. Thank you Master Dayo and Miss Tess for your dedication to martial arts and for taking an interest in my personal growth.

My son attended a birthday party for 4 year olds recently at Evoke. The 3 instructors leading the party were absolutely phenomenal. I've never been to a party with such enthusiastic and friendly instructors...they really made the event! The space was also so bright and clean. We had an amazing time and plan to enrol in a class soon!

Excellent Martial Arts Academy! My son loves his Lil'Dragons classes. The instructors are patient, supportive, and create a fun learning environment. I've noticed significant improvements in my son's confidence and discipline. The facility is clean and well-equipped, with flexible schedules for all ages and skill levels. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Evoke Martial Arts school. My daughters have been training here for a year and they absolutely love it. The instructors are fantastic—supportive and skilled. I've seen my girls gain confidence, discipline, and new friendships. It’s a wonderful place for kids to learn and grow!

The Toronto Hapkido Academy has been a truly wonderful experience. As an adult engaging in martial arts for the first time, the environment has been ideal. All of the instructors have been motivating, knowledgeable, and supportive. The classes offer a great workout and a chance to feel a little bit badass. I look forward to continuing the journey!

Best birthday party here at Evoke!!!! We celebrated our daughter’s 12th birthday at Evoke and everyone really enjoyed the party! Guest comment during the party: “Wow we have never attended a martial arts birthday before. This is super fun and our children are really enjoying the activities.” It was a very well planned party with super fun activities and all of this arranged by Evoke! As parents we were really relaxed as everything was managed by Evoke staff. My daughter’s friends really enjoyed all the activities and everyone at the party was engaged throughout the 2 hours. Time management was excellent, everything was ready when we arrived. Best birthday party experience. Highly recommend!! My daughter also attends the Hapkido Kidz class at Evoke! When she first started, it was really challenging for her. But the teachers at Evoke were so encouraging and supportive that very soon she started getting comfortable in her classes. We are really happy seeing her progress and really appreciate the staff at Evoke! Thank you so much for your wonderful lessons and teaching these important life skills with so much determination! We signed up our elder daughter (age 6) for a one-week summer camp, and she loved it so much she asked to sign up for regular classes. This from a girl who is typically into princesses, ballet dancing, and arts and crafts. Naturally because she wanted to do it, her little sister (age 4) also wanted to join classes too. They both have been going to classes twice a week now for 4 months and they are as excited and motivated to go now as when they first started attending. The instructor team does a great job remembering all their names (which is no easy feat), fostering confidence, and providing motivation, especially through the stripe and belt advancement. Each lesson also has a brief interactive lecture about important life lessons such as focus, confidence, responsibility, and control, but done so with a good sense of humour to not bore them. My girls both wish the lessons were longer. The timing of the younger kids (Lil' Dragon) lessons (4:30pm and 5pm) are a bit difficult for working parents to get their kids to twice a week, but there is a Saturday morning session too. We've been really happy with our experiences so far with T.H.A., great work!

I signed up my son for a trial this past summer after trying several other martial arts programs around the city. After one trial class my son was committed to return - a naturally shy boy, my son really took a liking to the large bright space and reasonable sized classes. Evoke is truly a community that pushes growth in their discipline, respect for others and overall fun and learning.

The space was perfect for my 7-year-old's BD party, and all the moms were so impressed! The entertainers were amazing—kept the kids happy and engaged. Everything was professional, fun, and well-organized. Highly recommend Evoke team for a truly stress-free, memorable party!

Great place for everyone! The adult classes are welcoming and exciting. There is always something new to be taught and you are constantly challenged to push your body to obtain great fitness results. The children's classes are fun and dynamic from start to finish. And it's great for families too! I would recommend this place to anyone who has ever had even the slightest interest or curiosity towards martial arts. It is more than just kicking and punching. This place will really give you a different look of martial arts.

We have been members at an Evoke for years now and it has been one of the best decisions our family has ever made. The amount of care and thought that is put into every program makes it clear that this dojo is a labour of love. It is rare to find a program that is well thought out, authentic, challenging and rewarding, and Evoke's Lil' Dragons program is just that. The children aren't just learning martial arts, they are learning life skills. Each lesson is imbued with the pillars of discipline and respect that are essential not only to a successful martial arts practice, but also to living life with integrity even when they get off the mat. The instructors are experts at bringing out the best in the kids, while emphasizing accountability and rewarding progress. We are so lucky to have such an ethical and ambitious dojo in our community, and our children's lives have been so enriched as a result. Evoke is truly a rare gem. Came across an 11 year old photo of my youngest with Master Dayo and just thought about the great memories that both she and her sister have of their time here. They are no longer members but starting with little dragons and continuing on to the kids program gave them both a solid foundation of discipline and respect which continues to this day. I wanted to say thank and let others know that this was a very important part of my girls growth.

T.H.A provides kids and adults martial arts classes. My review below is exclusively regarding the adult Muay Thai classes, an extremely positive experience. Community: -The students of Muay Thai are typically career professionals and the health and safety aspect concern them. Most students attend regularly, and they know they will face each other again. Therefore, the system is not egocentric and there is an atmosphere of friendship and support. I am yet to see a serious injury caused by one member upon the other. -When doing the drills, the senior students are usually paired against the beginners, so the rookies can watch and improve their techniques. Instructors: -During the training, the main instructors observe us and give live feedback. -There is a strong emphasis on building cardio capacity and proper breathing to remain relaxed when fighting. -Proper technique execution is valued more highly than inefficient use of power. -Prior to every drill, the correct way is shown and repeated a few times to explain the thinking behind it. -There are generous junior instructors who can help you even outside the official training hours. -The key instructor -Master Dayo- is very knowledgeable about quality warm up, cool down, stretching and etc needed to minimize the risk of injuries. He assures that the students have the proper technical and cardio base, before jumping to the more advanced classes. Logistics: -Free parking is available on the backstreets. -Business day adult classes start after 7:00 P.M. -The mirrors across the training room allow you to check your form. Despite its violent exterior, Muay Thai is a beautiful sport and requires alot more than brute force. You will learn how to work around your advantages and disadvantages, while keeping calm and conscious. It is a complex combination of useful physical and mental attributes. I strongly suggest interested people to try Muay Thai at least for a few sessions at Toronto Hapkido Academy.

Evoke is a wonderful space for my 10 and 15 year olds. Leia is always looking forward to her Hapkido practices and is a big fan of her instructors. Amir loves the Muay Thai classes. My son enjoys attending the Little Dragon class very much. Instructors do a good job helping children to concentrate and exercise happily. The classes are fun, educational and nurture discipline. The studio is always clean and comfortable with good ventilation. I would highly recommend Evoke!!

As parents we have appreciated the rigour and structure of the karate classes for our son. He is learning karate but more than that he is learning how to focus, be polite and follow instructions. I would highly recommend Evoke.

We recently hosted our 6-year-old’s birthday party here. While typical options for kindergarten to early elementary kids are indoor playgrounds or magic shows in party rooms, this was our first time trying a karate-themed birthday party—and it turned out to be an amazing choice. From the planning and booking stage, the staff were always very responsive and patiently answered all of our detailed questions. On the day of the party, we had a mix of slight nervousness and high expectations, but the experience far exceeded them. The staff were energetic, fun, and did an excellent job keeping all the children fully engaged and well organized from start to finish. Within just 10 minutes, my son was completely soaked in sweat from all the excitement, which made everyone laugh. Meanwhile, the adults were able to relax and enjoy coffee while watching everything unfold. Our whole family was extremely happy with the experience, and all of the guests also said it was “the best party ever” and “we want to do it again!” We would highly recommend Evoke’s karate birthday party to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet. If you're looking for a place to get a good workout and have tons of fun, this is the place for you. Toronto Hapkido Academy has not only taught me self defence but has also boosted my self confidence and discipline. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and supportive. In my opinion Toronto Hapkido Academy is the best martial arts school there is and I would recommend it to everyone who is interested in martial arts.

I really enjoy taking classes at this school. Every time I go, I get a bit better physically and mentally. I really like a challenge and I get one every time I come to the dojo. The staff are all very nice and supportive and I really appreciate that. It may be a long distance to reach the school but it's definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to continue my attendance here and improve myself as a martial artist and a person.

My son has been attending Evoke for approximately 2 months. Evoke is awesome! I would recommend sending your child to Evoke. The instructors are caring and provide an environment for learning, discipline and respect.

Could not be happier with THA. My 6 year old son has been a Lil' Dragon for almost 2 years now and the benefits from the program have been immense. The instructors are constantly instilling important values with the kids (family, respect, focus, discipline) and they are very knowledgeable in how to communicate to the young kids. For anyone looking for a kids martial arts program, I highly recommend this.

The team at THA are professional and inspiring to the kids that attend the school. My son has been in the Lil' Dragons program for almost 4 years and has learned so much! They make all the kids & parents feel like they are part of an extended family. So much more than a martial arts school. 🙂

This is by far one of the best kids parties we’ve ever hosted. We have celebrated both of our kids party here. It is an amazing experience for the kids. They are kept active with none stop games and make sure the birthday child is the center of the party! Can’t recommend enough.

We signed up our 4 year old daughter in karate class at Evoke because we had heard great things about it from other families in our neighbourhood. We are so glad that we did! She loves her classes and we value how much she’s being empowered. In addition to learning martial arts, they always talk about values - this month the topic is Honesty: “Being honest means telling and showing the truth” We can’t recommend Evoke enough, it has been such a positive experience for our daughter and our family.

I started at Toronto Hapkido Academy four years ago as a 33 year old who was feeling pretty out of shape and who had always thought that martial arts would be fun, but had never made it past 2 or 3 classes at any school I had tried. Well here I am four years later having achieved my 1st degree black last November and teaching classes to the kids and juniors. When I look back on my time at THA it is nothing short of amazing. Dayo and his team have been supportive, nurturing, welcoming, pushed me to my limits and beyond, and have become my fast friends. My wife and both my kids have joined me there and have loved it. I would not hesitate to invite anyone to come and experience the fun and challenge at THA.
